[gui-talk] A Windows Update issue

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium on a 64 bit computer. While trying to
install a Windows Critical Update, I got the following: Error Code
800B0100. I tried to run an automatic trouble shooter, which was supposed
to correct any problems with Windows Updates. It did not work. So, I
installed a hot fix which is supposed to correct this problem, but I'm still
getting the same error.
Someone, on another list, suggested uninstalling Microsoft.net Framework 4
from Programs and Features, restart the computer a couple times and then
redownload the .net framework 4 and then try to install the Windows critical
update.
I don't know the purpose of this Microsoft.net Framework 4, and someone
suggested that some screen readers use it. So, before I go ahead and try
this to fix the Windows Update problem, I want to find out if I'm going to
lose speech from JAWS after this is uninstalled. Also, to redownload, would
I look in the Microsoft download center?
All this makes me quite nervous. I just bought the computer in January and
don't want to do anything to mess it up. It looks like the Windows Updates
have not installed since June.
Thanks for any help.
Cindy

in all your ways submit to him,
