[gui-talk] windows 7 and loss of sound

It's worth considering. But I think Jude is closer to the truth when he
intimates that there may be some subtle or not-so-subtle problems with the
scheduling algorithms within Windows-7. I know that I've made the problem of
programs becoming unresponsive less acute by disabling checking of email for
phishing content by Vipre Internet Security which generally stays out of the
way most of the time. But it could just be the time of day because, like
Christo, I've encountered periods when absolutely nothing went wrong,
sometimes lasting for days.

Mike

Video/sound drivers often get updated without informing end-users
specifically.
I plan to look at my history for these and see if I have versions or not.
