machine does display the files and folders on my windows 7 laptop just fine.

You can't connect from an XP machine to your Windows 7 machine using Windows
networking. I tried finding a solution some time ago and found that
Microsoft doesn't support it at all. There may or may not be third-party
tools to do it, I never investigated it.

However, you can connect from the Windows 7 machine back to the XP machine.
Your Windows 7 machine should be able to see the rives and other resources
on the XP machine with no problem. You can also set up remote desktop to
connect from XP to Windows 7 or vice-versa. What you can't do is share
drives and other resources that are on your Windows 7 machine from the XP
machine.

I know it sounds complicated, but if you're interested I can try to provide
more details.

Subject: [gui-talk] home network problem

Hello computer users,

I'm trying to connect my windows xp PC and my windows 7 laptop together on
my home network. the problem is that my windows XP desktop computer can see
my windows 7 laptop (after I typed in the password), but my windows 7 laptop
can not see my windows xp machine. I tried doing everything I could possibly
do. I tried using the network setup wizard, using the wireless network
wizard, and digging into mazes to find a solution, but it doesn't work. Do
any of you guys know how to fix this?

My windows XP is a windows xp service pack 3, and runs JAWS version 12.
My windows 7 laptop is a home premium 64-bit. and also runs JAWS version 12.
Any tips?

thanks,
Humberto
