Hello
I have a cane like you mentioned. It has a small nob that turns and that
shortens and lengthens it. Hope this helps.

Subject: [gui-talk] blind support cane, cont.

If anyone on this list was planning to answer my recent inquiry about spoort
canes, please forgive. But I did some Googling and found that Independent
Living Aids, whose very own Steven Guerra inhabits this list, had the widest
selection.

Now I have it. But I seem to have gotten myself into trouble already. The
cane's length is adjustable. I thought this must be accomplished with holes
and click stops on the top section.

So I pressed, and it wasn't easy, until what seemed like a metal button,
sank inside the shaft. But then I couldn't make this piece appear again
where I'd found it, or click it to the next stop. I'm only glad the cane
seems to hold my weight, even if it's a little shorter than I think it's
supposed to be at its maximum length.

I have noticed that the knurled knob at the bottom of the top section
rotates. Is this part of the technique for lengthening or shortening the
stick?

Oh. It's the folding one from Ambu Tech, if that matters.

Yes, I ran a Jaws repair to see if that would make the button pop up again.
No luck. I also removed my sandals, listened to some good Cajun music and at
some good gumbo, and still no dice.

Help, please,.
