[gui-talk] Turning off search items in Internet Explorer 7

If you're in the address bar you would only be searching previously visited
addresses for a URL, I think. The google toolbar is a more general search.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The google toolbar actually does a google
search, like on the google webpage.

Anyway, if you want to turn off autocomplete of your addresses in the
address bar, you can go to internet options to the advanced tab and there is
a large treeview of items there, one of which affects this. I don't remember
the exact wording of the setting.
If it's the google toolbar, then I don't know what to do -- go to the
control panel and uninstall it maybe, or avoid typing the up and down arrows
while you are in it -- the reason being, it will take you through all the
google searches you have typed. The first time I discovered that I was
shocked. I was also shocked that passwords were sometimes being saved and
entered automatically. They were hidden with stars so no one could see them,
but anyone at the computer could log into a website with a password without
permission if they were at my computer. This bothers me more than the
search field. I want to uninstall whatever is saving my passwords. If that
is google toolbar, away it goes.
Hope you're not totally confused.
Personally, when I'm typing a URL, I like having it autocomplete as I don't
like retyping a long URL when I don't have to.
Good luck.

I'm in the address bar where I could type a URL or search item. I do not
have Google toolbar installed as far as I know.

I am using I.E. 7 and Jaws 10. When I go to search for an item and am in the
search field, if I arrow up and down, it lists all my previous searches. I
have played around in tools and options, but cannot figure out how to turn
that particular feature off. In other words, I don't want my search items
listed. How do I turn off that feature? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
