You had two very different questions, so I changed your subject line.  

Duxbury does not have its own mail-merge facility.  For minor changes, you
might be able to do something useful with the Windows clipboard.  But for
the typical merge, you will need to do it in Word and then save the merged
files in a form DBT can understand.  I don't know for sure that ?DBT will
understand merged documents in their normal form.  You should probably call
Duxbury support with this question.

Second, I'm needing to Braille a document that  needs to be mail-merged. Is
it possible to do this in Duxbury? I have Duxbury 10.3 or 10.5, can't
remember which at the moment. Thanks in advance for any help you can
