different book readers support different formats. I have no idea about
microsoft's book reader. kindle, the popular player sold on amazon, has its
own proprietary format, but they put out a program that runs on windows that
will read kindle books. Unfortunately it is not accessible.
Kindle has speech to read books aloud, but not talking menus, so it's not
accessible.
If you get a victor stream, you can read anything in daisy or brf or a
variety of text formats--ask someone who owns one. I myself have a
booksense.
the stream and booksense and all the rest will also play mp3 and wav files
and a variety of other sound formats.
You can also download nls talking books if you apply for a BARD account.
Oh, and a lot of people listen to books from audible.com.
Good luck and happy listening.

I'm new to e-books.

What sites do any of you suggest for buying e-books and magazines
such as asimov's science fiction magazine?

Does Microsoft Reader work with Jaws?

If I get a Victor Reader Stream, what formats should I purchase from e-book
sites?

Thanks so much for any help,

Sue Redding
