On the next Attitude Test, on Sunday 6 June at 18:00 UTC, 2 pm Eastern, 11
am Pacific, 7 pm in the UK and 8 pm in Central Europe on the Global Voice,
we'll be discussing the future of Braille. In these days of computers,
Ipods and other ways to read books and general text, is Braille still
absolutely necessary? why is it that in some schools for the blind it is
not taken particularly seriously? Could it be said that a blind person who
doesn't know Braille is illiterate? Isn't it a basic human rite to learn to
read and write? How would sighted people feel if they suddenly had no pens
or pencils? There are many aspects to this subject and Wally and I will
hope to touch on some of them. To help us we'll have a special guest, Ivy
Temple who is a great advocate of the use and teaching of Braille.

We'll also take a quick look at the news, both major and trivial and have
our "Pet Peeves" spot.

Our "Pet Peeves" spot is a little time, approximately four minutes when you
can get something off your chest without interruption. For those who don't
know, the word "Peeve" means something like annoyance. If you have
something that's been bugging you and you'd like to have a bit of a rant
about it, then drop an email with an mp3 attachment (no longer than four
minutes) to attitude.test at theglobalvoice.info.

You can skype the live program - the skype name is the.global.voice.
You can also email and msn the program at yourvoice at theglobalvoice.info.

We also have three phone numbers you can use:
In the US 305 434 4132
In the UK and Europe +44 (outside the UK) or in the UK 01 then for all
208 123 6806
In Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Area the number is +64 9 974 9636

Join in the debate on the future of Braille.

That's the Attitude Test, this time discussing the future of Braille, every
Sunday at 18:00 UTC on the Global Voice, the most interactive station on the
internet.
