Ok, I looked again at
http://www.gwmicro.com/Booksense/
and got the specs for the 2.0 version of the Booksense and Booksense XT (the
more expensive one).
Apparently both are able to record, but only the XT has bluetooth.
Also I forgot to mention that you can listen to FM radio on the Booksense.
But I couldn't find the price on this page.
I bought one but the receipt has several items on it in addition to the
booksense so I'll have to look further to see how much they charged for the
booksense. (I also need to find the box with the receipt.)
When I get the receipt and have a sighted family member look at it I'll let
you know the price. It bugs me it was not on the web page. I wonder how
much I paid. I believe it was between 400 and 500.
More later. Meanwhile, feel free to go to the above web page.
Have fun.

Hi there -- I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but the Book
Sense from GW Micro reads DAISY books and plays mp3's, and in addition is a
recording device (the more expensive model). It has a lot of internal
memory -- I think 4GB -- and also a slot for an sd card, which is also
included. It has bluetooth so you can use it with wireless headphones. In
short, it tries to do everything, and I think does a pretty good job. It is
smaller than a cell phone and of course it is completely accessible, being a
blindness product.
I just bought one. I don't work for GW Micro -- I'm just excited about my
new purchase.

Subject: [gui-talk] Screen Reader Accessibility on MP3 players
Hello listers:
does anyone know about a screen reader for an IPod or an mp3
player? Do you know of any type of screen reader that can be
accessed with an MP3 player, or which type of MP3 players support
talking software? Are there any MP3 players on the market that
include any voicing application that can be accessed?
I have a 4 gb MP3 player and the brand is "Sansa clip" (I don't
exactly know the name) but looks like it one of those common
off-the-shelf MP3 players bought from Best Buy. It is not a
touch-screen player, which is good, and can be rechargeable with
the USB cable connected to the computer. I have over 500 songs in
it and it has a menu that is totally inaccessible to me because I
don't have a software that can talk. Any suggestions are welcome.
