You could win a free gift by visiting GW Micro in Booth #413
An innovative navigation technology will give blind and deaf-blind conference attendees free access to mobility-friendly walking directions for the Caribe Royale Orlando All-Suite Hotel and Convention Center, the site of ATIA 2010 in Orlando, FL.
Continuing a partnership that started at ATIA 2009 Chicago, GW Micro is again joining with ClickAndGo Wayfinding Maps from InTouch Graphics to make the entire venue navigable and accessible down to a level of detail that is unparalleled by any other service or technology today.
"After receiving positive customer comments at ATIA Chicago, we are again joining with ClickAndGo Wayfinding Maps at ATIA Orlando to make it very easy to navigate the hotel, convention center and other areas," says Dan Weirich, vice president of sales and marketing, GW Micro. "This continues GW Micro_s commitment to help improve the lives of people who are blind or who have low-vision."
Rather than depend on strangers or other people for directions, conference attendees can obtain specific directions to help them find their way independently to the hotel and convention center registration desk, restaurants, ballrooms, function rooms, restrooms, dog guide relief areas, and other destinations. Accessing the directional routes will be especially easy for GW Micro customers who have a BookSense, Braille Sense Plus, Braille Sense Plus QWERTY, Voice Sense, or Window-Eyes screen reading software.
By using your Sense notetaker, BookSense or Window-Eyes and your computer, you can access all the routes by going to <http://www.clickandgomaps.com/atia>www.clickandgomaps.com/atia and then prepare your routes in advance. Routes can also be printed in Braille for easy reference.
If you are attending ATIA 2010 Orlando and would like a demonstration, please stop by GW Micro booth #413 or InTouchGraphics booth #109. The first 20 GW Micro customers who come to the GW Micro booth with their Braille Sense Plus, Braille Sense Plus QWERTY, Voice Sense, or Book Sense will receive a free SD card with all the ATIA 2010 Orlando routes and points-of-interest files loaded onto the card. This makes it easy to navigate the hotel and convention center routes and points of interest.
The route directions are prepared by mobility specialists, incorporating terminology, technique recommendations, and landmarking cues that are exclusively intended to assist people who are blind or deaf-blind. The directions and points of interest can also be accessed by calling the dedicated ATIA phone number at (888) 566-3483.
