[gui-talk] What are landmarks??landarm

how does this relate to the underlying html? Are they div blocks?
or is a landmark simply the union of all the various types of entities like 
headings, lists, tables, etc?
I can answer this myself with a little research and experimentation, but 
thought I'd ask in case someone else knows.

It's up to the author of the web page to use landmarks or not.  If they are
used on the page, use z semicolon and colon with JAWS to navigate among
them.  Bookshare uses them.

also like to suppose that these landmarks are like MacOS 's web autospots.

I'm running the latest build of Jaws 11. When loadeing a Web page, Jaws used
to say only how many links there were on the page and announce if there was
an RSS feed. At least I think that's all it said before the page was ready
to be navigated.

Now to that list of announcements, its says how many landmarks there are.
What's a landmark? What am I expected to do with them if I wish to do
something, and how?
