[gui-talk] Just realized: I have no DVD drive for new Jaws 11

Please, please read all this message before replying. thanks.

I know I can download Jaws 11 with my SMA credit , and how to do it. I know
I can then download new training materials, too. I confess I don't know if I
can download the new full-function Daisy player, also, or will have to use
the limited version to read those training files. But I'm not worried about
that, yet. Now here's my question:

Up until now, whether I've downloaded my new Jaws from the FS site instead
of waiting for the CD and its few extras like voices, at least I've been
able to insert the CD if necessary. But I just realized that my Dell
Dimension 3000, five years old, doesn't *have* a DVD drive, only a CD ROM
drive.

Yes, I know there are outboard DVD drives I could buy and, what, plug into a
USB port? Not too expensive, either? But is that the only way I'll ever be
able to use the Jaws 11 disc with this computer?
Is anyone else here using an older computer and also upgrading to Jaws 11?
How do you intend to deal with this? Just download whatever you can and toss
the DVD into a drawer?

thanks,
Joel
