[gui-talk] file with a .docx extension

Hi, listers.

I just received an e-mail containing an attachment with a .docx extension.    It seems to be a variant of the Microsoft Word format, but I can't get my computer to read it correctly.  When I open the file. I get a message saying, "document conversion, Windows default," and when I press enter and the file opens, there's nothing but garbage.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
