Rick,
In the near future, blank record cartridges will be made available for sale 
through some blind gizmo outlets, and they will have a USB port you can 
connect to your computer's USB port with a patch cord, such as many people 
already use for transferring files from their hard drive to an .mp3 player 
of one sort or another. Then you'll just slip the cartage in an play it. But 
they haven't come out yet.

just listen to books on your computer with out putting the book on a
