Hi. Just to summarize what others said. The XT has 4 gb of internal 
flashdisk space and the capability of the SD card you can add to it is 
currently up to 32 gb of additional storage. So in theory, you can have 
up to 36 gb of space to use for all your music, books, and podcasts.

You get an 8 gb card with the XT, so this means you have 12 gb to start 
with.
