Akami is one of several services Web content providers can use who have
servers located in strategic locations in the Internet's Web of varying
routing agreements and situations.  the Akami servers keep a cache of
most needed data and can drastically speed up access time, while
lowering overall bandwidth usage end-to-end.  Such a usage might be
ideal for NLS Bard, but may also be cost prohibitive due to the volume
of data.  however, even if it could expedite and streamline the top 200
downloads each month it might help.
