Oh, players. You mean like an .mp3 player. That kind of thing. Or a cell 
phone that takes pictures and/or plays music and, accordingly, needds to 
offer variable storage space options. I think I get it.

Some players accept memory cards to expand their built in memory.  Some cell
phones too.

Floppy disk? Well, I still have an A drive where I can use 3 1/2 inch
floppies, myself, and my Dell is about four years old. I didn't know they
didn't make the slot anymore. I mean on PCs, not Macs. I know Macs don't and

never did have a floppy drive, in the old days or more recently.

But that's at the very top of my tower, practically, I thought this thing
was down where the USB ports are. Also, what sort of player are you talking
about? What does that have to do with this? I'm confused. Someone must get
this, but between floppies and some sort of player, i don't get what you're
saying.

One reason it's not universal is that just a few years ago people were still
using floppies and that space in the front of the computer was used up by
their player.
