[gui-talk] Ad-Aware 2008 is now Available

The scripts for Add Aware six greatly improved its accessibility. Certain
aspects of the program's functionality just weren't accessible with the jaws
curser. I agree scripts aren't needed with every program and there's de
finitely a need for folks to learn to use all the cursers at their disposal
but we need to remember jaws is kind of one big macro or set of sc scripts.

Well, okay for you. But if I asked around and enough people whose opinions I
respected said they'd tried it and it really couldn't be managed with Jaws,
I wouldn't likely waste my time downloading and installing it and going
through agonies just to realize that I couldn't access the controls. That
doesn't seem stupid or lazy to me. Does everyone have to reinvent the wheel
for themselves? But that's just in my humble opinion, of course.
And believe me, AdAware `1.06, without scripts, doesn't allow you to get
around the controls and do things without feeling like a drunk coming home
in the dark and fumbling around for the light switch and tripping over the
furniture. Now that is how I feel when I'm down to the Jaws cursor level of
operating an interface. I don't care to mess with that if I don't have to.
It's not a point of pride for me, as it is for some people on the lists,
although I'm glad they feel good about their competency and everything.
Well, we shall see. Something or other.

Just a friendly suggestion here, but you could always try it and see.
If it doesn't work, just uninstall it. Besides, what you consider
"usable/accessible" might differ from another person's definition.
Yes, JAWS scripts can make a difference withs some programs, but
sometimes, they're not needed.
