[gui-talk] Ad-Aware 2008 is now Available

Steve,
Okay. But that sounds really weird. They released a new AdAware around
January 2008, or so I seem to remember, and called it AdAware 2007? And now
they're finally calling this by the current year? Okay. But my question is,
is this release Jaws friendly, or does it need to be bolstered by the help
of some generous script writer in the Jaws community before we Jaws users
will be able to use it? And meantime, will it remain possible for us users
of AdAware 1.06 or whatever it's called to keep downloading and installing
update definition files ourselves?
Thanks.

Hi Joel,
Ad-Aware 2007 has been out for a few months now, this is the version of
Ad-Aware that is inaccessible. This version has now been superseded by
Ad-Aware 2008 which was released this week. I hope this helps.
Regards Steve.

Steve,
thanks for passing this on. But, as far as I know, it hasn't been that
everyone's been waiting around for the new version of AdAware to be
released. In fact, this notice confuses me because I thought it had
already
been released a couple of months ago but people like me, Jaws users,
were
told that the new version wasn't Jaws friendly, so we've been manually
obtaining and installing our updates, which can't be gotten with the
updater
feature anymore now that the new version is in place.
So first of all, I don't understand why the release of this version is
news,
when I thought it had been out for a couple of months, and second,
whatever
the truth of that is, can anyone say whether or not it's Jaws friendly
out
of the box, or maybe some script writer has provided scripts to tame it
for
Jaws use?
Regards Steve
