Yes, in fact I have. That program is Trend Micro. thus far, I can honestly
say that I am very satified with it.

Ray,
I'm starting to suspect that. I know Dave's a stalwart fellow and
everything, but I'm just not made of such stern stuff, prepared to go out
there with my climbing gear, dehydrated food and bottled water to tackle a
Jaws-cursor piece of software. Have you migrated, as they say, to another
antivirus program with which you're pleased?

Frankly Joel, I'd go right ahead and give up on AVG 8. From what I've seen
in a thorough review of that version, it's a disaster accessibility wise.
Sincerely,

I understand that FS has released an update to Jaws V. 9 that's supposed to
remedy a problem where you had to exit Jaws before launching AVG V. 8 Free
Edition or else Jaws couldn't access its interface.
I'm an AVG Free Edition v. 7.5 user, and I'd like to at least try Free
version 8 before giving up on AVG, uninstalling it and downloading Avast!,
instead, as some folks are doing.
So this morning, I allowed a notice that popped up while AVG was performing
its daily update to lead me to the AVG Web page where they promote the new
products, both free and paid.
So far, so good. but I looked and I looked but I can't find the damn link to
simply download the new Free Edition Version 8. I don't blame them for
trying to promote their two paid editions, which I think are called Pro and
Security, but amidst the clutter of promotional copy for those two editions
and links to publicity material, I simply can't find the link to just go
ahead and download the free version 8. I've clicked on so many links I
thought might get me there that my head is spinning now.
Can anyone guide me through this maze? There are a few links and controls on
the AVG pages that are either unlabeled or labeled with meaningless
characters. I wonder if those have to do with what I'm looking for?
Help. Still have a week or so before there are no more virus definition
updates for v. 7.5.
Thanks.
