Hello Ray,
Have you tried their Firefox plugin yet?

Hey, instead of all this speculation, why not just go to the site and look?
I can tell you this. It's not human readers. You have to go through a
little bit of a process to get the captcha to the site; and then, it
supposedly gives you back what you type in. However, I'm told it doesn't
work on:
www.myspace.com
and some other sites either.
Sincerely yours,
The Constantly Barefooted,
Ray

Darrell,
I think Mike was probably simply responding to the statement, "Hey,
anything's better than having to wait for a sighted person!" Even notes
that this site is progress.
I think we have both seen students fail or drop out of courses because their
screen reader would not function adequately and they wouldn't consider
readers.
Readers are one more tool, but the point that readers are not always
available is a valid one as well.
I have some of the same concerns you expressed in your other note, though,
regarding the site. I wonder how they are converting the Captchas to text.
If they are
using human beings, it doesn't seem likely that the response time will be
good in the long run. If they are using some sort of complex OCR algorithm,
it is probably a
matter of time before spammers use the same thing and the site won't be that
reliable. I know we have tossed around a number of solutions for this, but
I wish we
could come up with something that works as this is a problem getting bigger.
