Okay, how do I get activesync to synchronize both ways?

I have read some of my outlook email and deleted some.  
However, after synchronizing, the outlook on my computer does 
not match what I had already read on the phone.  What do I need to change?

Also, is there a way to get activesync to use my storage 
card instead of the phone's memory for syncing outlook? (I have a Pantech
Duo)

If this is not the correct list for asking these questions, can someone
direct me to the proper place?
