I don't think WE would have caused this. but you can assign sound to events or change the scheme by going to the
control panel sounds and audio  select the sounds tab.

gang,

I reinstalled windoweyes a few days ago and now I don't have that 
little musical chord that the computer plays when shutting down and 
when starting.  I don't know if  there is a connection or not but 
does anybody know how to get it back? I am using xp.  I looked 
through the windows folder but didn't find any clue.
