[gui-talk] Audio Verification

Actually, that USPS solution isn't all that secure so although it is
certainly convenient for us and does solve the problem of
inaccessibility of solutions by the deaf-blind, it doesn't solve the
larger problem of security for the site seeking to verify that it's
dealing with a human being and not a bot of some sort.

Actually, the most accessible solution was one I came across several
years
ago on the USPS site, where I was changing my address. They indeed had
one
of those Captia's, but instead of an audio solution, they had a form
that
you filled in your email address. Then, when an email was sent to you,
you
were asked to copy and paste the letter/number verification string
onto
another web page. By doing so, you solved the Captia issue and did it
in a
text manner. It seems that everyone else is caught up on this audio
solution
thing, and I'm all for that. However, not many have implemented a text
solution like the USPS site has. I haven't had to change my address
since my
last move, so I don't know if they still use this method, but it might
be
worth looking into. Ideally, it would be good to have both the audio
solution and a solution like this at a site's disposal. Their address
is:
www.usps.com
Good luck,
Wayne
