[gui-talk] Audio Verification

Hello Peter,

Well, of course, I'm all for the most accessible verification system. If you
can point me to evidence that a more text-based scheme is also secure, then
please, by all means, feel free to send me a note to
editor at blindaccessjournal.com so I may further research, and possibly
promote, such inherently more accessible solutions.

to make their CAPTCHA accessible!

Hello Darrell and listers,

e-mail messages and blog posts I've read on the subject say the exact
opposite. I heard of cases where some companies used the traditional visual
captcha and still got spammed to death. When they switched to a word
verification system the spamming ceased. I guess it's all in who you talk
to.

Hello Peter,

The deaf-blind issue with CAPTCHA is a real sticky one at the moment, as
most text-based challenge/response schemes are deemed too insecure to be
considered. Check out http://phonefactor.net and tell me if you think that
solution might be reasonably workable for a deaf-blind person.

pimpmynews.net just changed theirs because several blind people had a
problem signing up. It is now very accessible.
