Thanks Joel. I'll keep the list traffic in mind.

Sherry,
One note of caution. BlindTech is a very high traffic list. Nothing like
this nice, quiet civilized one. So don't be too shocked when the list posts
start flooding into your Inbox. Personally, I've gone on Digest mode to
consolidate the messages into groups of 25 that I can skim through, but this
alternative may or may not appeal to you. Another for instance, someone
might prefer to write "message rules" in order to filter that list's
incoming messages into its own folder. But whatever. Just be ready for the
volume.

Hi Joel and list,
Joel, your tip worked wonderfully for me too. For the longest time, when I
went into my format menu with alt O, the font setting didn't show up. It was
nowhere to be found. I could access it other ways, but not through that
particular menu. Well, I did what you suggested, deleted the normal file and
the font menu now is back. Thank you. How do I subscribe to the blind tech
list?
Sherri

Jaybee,
this is a long shot, but it won't involve much investment of time and
effort, either. A few weeks ago, believe it or not, the Options item in my
Word 2003 Tools menu simply vanished. Now, I like being able to go to my
options tab and tweak word settings as much as the next person, so I asked
around to see if anyone could figure out how this had happened. I got no
help on this beloved list, I'm afraid. One person seemed to think I didn't
know how to navigate a Word menu, and encouraged me to arrow up and down
more vigorously. A second person wrote in to say it was probably nothing and
I was making too much of it, though I'm not sure what that meant in
practical terms. I mean, the menu item actually had disappeared. That was
neurotic? Still can't get my mind around that response.
But on the Blind Tech list, someone made a suggestion I didn't understand
the logic of but since it seemed a harmless idea, I tried it and my Options
came back onto the menu. Here's what I did.
first, I exited word. Then I just found the normal.dot file associated with
Word and deleted it. Then, when I launched word again,it of course created a
new normal.dot file in order to give me the familiar blank new document
ready to type in. But more than that, when I opened the Tools menu and
arrowed up from the bottom a couple of presses of the up arrow key, there
it was. Options. Resurrected.
So find your normal.dot file and delete it. It's buried under documents and
Settings, about fifteen folders deep or something. You can just get to it by
running the Windows Search function, although be sure to go into Advanced
Search and click whatever to allow the Search to find hidden files, which
normal.dot is. When it comes up, just delete it. Don't worry; as I said,
Word creates a new one the moment you launch it again. Now check your Files
menu to see if your Send to item is back.
Good luck. Hope that does it. If not, sorry.

Subject: [gui-talk] Question bout the Send To menu
I posted this question before but received no response. If there's anyone
who can help I would appreciate it very much. In Word, under the Send To
menu, there are several options. One of these options is send as
attachment. At one time this option was availablable in my edition of word,
but somehow it has disappeared. Does anyone know how to restore it? I went
to iotuins under the tools menu and made sure that Mail as an attachment was
checked, and it was. I appreciate any suggestion. Thanks in advance.
Jaybee
