[gui-talk] program updates

Hi Ricdk,
I forget what I once read that Winamp Remote does, although I feel as if it
has something to do with gathering files online automatically or something,
and you have to be sure you're always online so that it can function.
In any case, my most recent Winamp install wizard didn't give me a way to
see this option and either accept it or refuse it, so it kept trying to get
me to finish the process, also. But I somehow got through the installation
without complying, whereupon I went to the Control Panel/Add-Remove
programs, found Winamp Remote on the list of installed programs right
beneath Winamp, and simply uninstalled it, and that didn't require sighted
help. So that's an alternative. The one I prefer, actually, because I'm not
up at that level where I do anything more elaborate with Winamp than just
let it play streaming audio or video files and music CDs. So whatever Winamp
Remote is about, I'm sure I don't need it.
Again, Settings/Control Panel/add/Remove Programs.

Subject: [gui-talk] program updates
This talk about AVG brings up another question.
When I upgraded Winamp the other day, I got Winamp Remote. It just happened
to be checked. I was unable to install it with the JAWS Cursor, which may
have been because of my ignorance of something. However, I was able to
install it with Window-eyes. If I didn't, I kept getting this nag message.
What does this program do, and how do I get to it. I eventually had a
sighted person help me deactivate it.
