Jen,
It sounds as if you're not sure how this stuff works. Now please forgive me
if you know. But here's what you do.
Let's say you bought an item on audible, and then downloaded it. First of
all, when you click on the button Download It on the My Library page under
that title, Audible Manager should automatically launch about the time when
the download is finishing. And then you will see that you are in the Library
pane of the Audible Manager interface, and you can arrow up and down and
confirm that the title you just downloaded is there.
Okay. Now here's how you transfer the title to your mobile device, the Zen
Stone. First of all, of course make sure that the Zen Stone is plugged into
your USB port where you plug it in. You will hear Audible manager tell you
that it's connected and that Audible Manager is synchronizing with it. Don't
do anything else until you have this part together. If this doesn't work
right, then you need to look at my last remarks in this message.
Okay. Now when you press Insert down arrow (in jaws, that is) to read the
status line, Audible Manager will assure you that your Zen Stone is
connected and synched.
Now just be in that library pane of Audible Manager, where your new purchase
is. It might be in several parts, if it's a long book, so don't forget to
notice that and leave any part behind.
Now select the file you wish to put on your Zen Stone. Press Control T, and
Audible Manager will ask if you wish to make any adjustments to how the
transfer is being made, and you can probably ignore this. Just press Enter
to start the transfer, and Jaws will speak the progress of the transfer
(they call this process transferring, not copying). When you hear that the
transfer's complete, tab over into the mobile device pane and arrow up or
down to find what you just put on there, and you'll see how this looks.
Assuming the stuff is on the Zen Stone now, you can just exit Audible
Manager (don't use Alt f4; instead, use the Exit item on the Files menu).
Then, being sure to first do the Safely remove hardware thing that you'll
find on your system tray list I hope, remove the Zen Stone from the USB
port. And now it's loaded with that file.
You see, the Audible files are DRM encoded (digital rights management), and
the only way to copy them so that they'll play is to do it through Audible
Manager. Okay? Music files like .mp3 files you've createedd yourself can be
copied to the Zen Stone just the way you thought, by using Windows Explorer
to copy and paste. But not the Audible programs.
I hope this is clear. Now, if you need to activate the Zen Stone for Audible
Manager and select it properly, I'm too hurried right now to explain that.
But if you need help doing that, the Audible support staff will walk you
thought it, or maybe even connect up with you and do it for you (although it
would be better to learn to do it yourself). Their toll free number is
(888) 283-5051.
Hope this helps.

Oh, thanks for telling me that. No, I didn't copy it from the manager. I
will try that.
Thanks,
Jen
