[gui-talk] Seeing links in Outlook mail messages

Check,

Using Outlook 2003, your message came in as plain text. If I place the
system cursor on or after the colon of the http:// portion of the link, the
url is launched and opens in my browser as expected. If on the other hand,
I place the system cursor on the h of the http:// portion of the url, the
link does not launch and isn't recognized as a link as far as I can tell.

If I route the mouse cursor to the system cursor and click on the h of the
http:// portion of the url, it is immediately recognized as a link and is
launched in my browser.

Not making a point here really, merely describing how this works in all
cases for me here on a text message.

Certainly this should work. Here is a link to my blog, it should start on
its own line. Let me know if this comes up as a link:

I have recently forced myself to switch from Eudora to Outlook 2003, soon
2007, because that's what everybody uses. One disappointment with the
switch is that when I read e-mail messages in Eudora, I could simply click
(hit enter on) a web link and go directly there. With Outlook, running xp
Pro and IE7, this does not happen. I can't find an Outlook setting to
change the behavior. I hope Charles Opperman, or somebody else, can
enlighten me on how to fix this.

Thanks in advance.

Dean
