If you can afford it, the Victor Reader Stream is ideal for this
purpose, because it will speak to you about which folders and files are
selected. Also, in addition to MP3's, it will play DAISY books, OGG
files, and will even read basic text files. WMA, BRF, and Audible.com
are soon to come. And, because it uses SD memory cards, there is no
real limit on the amount of material you can have available to play on
it, and it is a voice recorder as well, and all functions are accessible
via speech.

I have a Creative Muvo and like it. It just connects to USB and shows
up as an additional drive letter.
