Hi all,

I have some wonderful news for sports fans!

The BOCOG (the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games) have arranged for the Audio Network to have permission to broadcast the goalball tournament from the 2008 Paralympic Games!

Yes, I will be broadcasting live from Beijing next September, although I won’t be actually in the hall – I will be broadcasting via a video link from within the hall, bringing you all the action live and as it happens!

We are going to test this system out this weekend, during the warm up tournament in Beijing called the Good Luck Games, and I would like to invite you all to come along and enjoy the warm up game as we test the system out with all fingers crossed! Grins!

I have opened up some pages on the sports section of the network to explain a little more, but here is the direct link for those who like to jump ahead!

By the way, the whole sports section has been changed today, and now includes the full archive of the 2007 Lakeshore Foundation International Goalball Classic, and also a wonderful report from Ryan Stevens about his passion, which is rowing and dragon boat racing in particular – a great listen!

Please take careful note of the schedule pages on the site for the Good Luck Beijing tournament. Beijing is exactly 12 hours ahead of me here on the East Coast of the US, and therefore the games take place through the night here. To make it simpler for you to work out the timings near you, I have also included the opportunity to change the times to either local Beijing (the default), EST, PDT, UK Time, or UTC (which I believe most Europeans are on right now.)

I have also included details on how to listen live, which once more is available through the wonderful Accessible World Auditorium. For those of you who have been in before, you can click on the “Listen Live” button from the page above (or press number 2 on the keyboard). For those who have never listened live before, here is full instructions, which can also be found on the site.

Listening is free of charge, and you do not need a password. You do need to install a small program called "Talkcom" that opens up the chat room for you, but this take seconds even on a slower computer, and definitely does not contain anything that would harm your computer in any way.
If you have listened before, chances are that you already have the program still sitting on yoru computer, and you should not be prompted to download it.
Here is how to get set up to listen.
http://conference321.com/masteradmin/room.asp?id=rs5affc3cfa191 Click here to go to the page where you can listen live
(this will open up in a new window, so you can still read the instructions on this page).
If you have listened to our audio commentaries previously, click on the link at the bottom of the page that says "Click here to enter the room" - it will ask for a user name and password. You do not need a password! Just enter in your name.
If you have not listened before, then click onthe download button to download the small (and safe) Talkcom software. The software will prompt you to either "run" or "save" - click on "run". The install wizard will install the "TC conference client" - the 'Sunday best name' for Talkcom, and will tell you when it is finished. When it has finished, click on the "continue" button, and then you are ready to click to enter the room.
If you have any problems, please contact me here at mailto:bill at pressakey.net this e-mail address...
I’ll be testing live from around about 8:30pm my time tomorrow, feel free to drop in any time from then on!
Enjoy!
Bill.
