When I had the same problem, I found I had to uninstall and reinstall the
player. There are options easier to read in the installation preferences.

Subject: [gui-talk] Media types in Real Player

Hello everyone,

I am using Windows XP home, JAWS 8, and Real Player 10.5. I want to chance
some of the filetypes in Real Player. I went to tools, preferences, and
filetypes. I select the button to configure them manually. JAWS says,
"Media type, but I don't hear any or see any on the braille display. Is
there a way around this? I have no trouble changing preferences in Winamp.
