[gui-talk] CCTV's for the asking

Hi all -- I am getting nowhere trying to place my old CCTV's where they can
be of use. I am moving a week from today. I posted an ad on nfbofnc for
anyone who would like an old CCTV, but got no reply, so I'm posting it here
in case there are some local yokels who might know who might want my old
equipment.

Details: I have left 1 black and white and one color CCTV that I can no
longer use. (Actually I have been unable to use them since 1999 due to
vision loss, but I kept them to continually test my vision. Now we are
moving and we don't want to lug them across country yet again.) I already
found a home for one of the black and white sets, but the above 2 sets are
still available. They are in good working order. The B&W set is older and
uses the now obsolete vidicon technology in the camera. What this means is
that when the vidicon tube burns out, you won't be able to get it repaired.
But it is still in very good condition. The color set uses an older chip
camera when those first came out. It also is very nice for blowing up
pictures. It is even nice if you have old fashioned picture negatives, you
can flip the colors to reverse to see what the pictures are. My mother, who
is sighted but has trouble reading small print, loves the color set to look
at old pictures and read documents, but she is even willing to part with it
to avoid packing it and dragging it to our new home.

The B&W set is in one piece -- a TSI Voyager 2, and the color is in 2
pieces, camera and 19 inch monitor.

If you know of a school or library in NC who might want these sets, please
get in touch -- my email is lauraeaves at yahoo.com
I would only hope for a gift acknowledgement for tax purposes.
If you want to grab one for your own use, send me email and we can work out
the details.
Again, I am completely unable to use these sets any longer. They however
have grown up with me and gotten me through school and 12 years of
employment and beyond, and they still work (according to my mother who says
the pictures are clear).

Hope to hear from someone soon. I am in the Charlotte area.
