[gui-talk] HELP! -- anybody have Norton?

Hi -- I get prompted from the login screen and windows boots after I enter
the password. This immediately after login, something (presumably Norton)
puts up a security dialog asking for my password again, and as if that
wasn't enough, it does it twice immediately after login.
The thing that really concerns me now is that the same security dialog just
popped up while I was reading my email. I couldn't proceed until I entered
my login password.
That's what I'm wondering about. I need to ask someone familiar with Norton
how to use the firewall and turn off this password popup.
Anyway, thanx in advance for any enlightenment.

When is this happening? If you have a logon password set, then you would be
prompted for your password when your machine starts, but I don't use
Norton's at all, so I can't say if it is a Norton thing or not.

Subject: [gui-talk] HELP! -- anybody have Norton?
Hi all -- I have a new machine with Norton preinstalled. There is some kind
of password verification that pops up when I log in, and just now the
password manager popped up and wouldn't let me continue until I entered my
password. My question is, does this popup come from Norton utilities, or do
I have a nasty worm on my machine? This machine is brand spanking new and I
have spent most the time working off line, except to read mail.
Could someone familiar with norton please give me an idea how they like it
and what these popups are and how to turn them off?
It seems as though security measures like this decrease security as it
leaves the way open for a copy-cat virus to pup up a window that would ask
for a password and then publicise it.
Anyway, assistance and suggestions welcome.
