Subject: [gui-talk] Window-eyes question

We have just gotten Window-eyes here at work. I have a few questions.

1. How does one read an attachment? In JAWS, the keystroke is Insert-a,
but I can't find an equivalent in Window-eyes.
I don't know what email client you are using, but in outlook, the hotkey is
alt 7 to hear the attachment. A second press of this hot key will place
focus in the attachment field. The same is true with alt 1 through alt 8.
Alt 1 reads the from field, alt 2 reads the date and time of the message,
alt 3 reads the to field, etc. Again, a second press of theis keys places
focus in these fields, making it handy if youneed to copy, paste, or have
the text in these fields spelled.

2. How can I get the Enter key to say Enter? Now, it is silent.
Enter the control panel with control backslash, press alt k to access the
keyboard menu, arrow down to special keys,, and press enter. From there,
arrow down to enter, press enter, select on, and press enter. Be sure to
save the set file by going to file, save, then setfile from the window-eyes
control panel.

3. In JAWS, there is a verbosity setting for Excel "read both titles,"
meaning row and column. How does Window-eyes handle this.
Use the headers and totals dialog. You can access this by pressing alt
shift h from with in Excel.

4. I use one application in which I want to use the Braille display without
the synthesizer. Is there a way to put it in sleep mode just for that
application, or is there a way to mute the synthesizer?

Yes. You can mute the synthesizer. I don't know what braille display you
are using, so I can't give you specific commands to use from the braille
display. However, if you check the window-eyes manual for hotkeys specific
to your braille display, you might find the command you want. If not, you
can create a braille hotkey, meaning a key command you can issue from the
braille display, to mute the speech.

Thank you for any help you can give me.
