I use Lotus Notes, but I use it with Window-Eyes.  However, there are some things that he needs to know such as the 
version of Lotus Notes being used.  He will probably need to have a recent version of JFW as well.  If he does mail 
mostly, he will probably want to configure Lotus Notes to start directly in the in-box, and that is something that someone 
with whom he works should be able to help with.

Once on a list of messages, one moves up and down with the arrow keys and opens a message by pressing ENTER.  
Window-Eyes reads open messages with its Browse Mode which is somewhat similar to the JFW Virtual Cursor, so I 
would expect the Virtual Cursor to be used.  

As I recall, there is documentation within JFW for Lotus Notes, so that probably needs to be studied for best results.  
Maybe someone else here will have more information.  Also, there are probably resources within IBM as well.
