[gui-talk] columns in a word document

Hi all -- I have a question -- I have been asked to write up a monthly flyer
of quotes and announcements for the church I go to and in order to fit
everything on one page I need to format it in 2 columns.
Well I went to the table menu and created a 2 column table and am having
trouble getting the column widths corrects -- and II am also not sure if
tables is the way to do what I want.
I want the text to fill in column 1 on page 1 and then before going to page
2, jump up and fill in column 2.
Since it is such a short document, I think I can handle manually going to
column 2 when I get to the bottom of the page, but now I have the entire
text of the document done but column 2 is about 1/3 the width of column 1
and I don't know how to fix it.
Does anyone have an idea what to do to get the effect I need?
Thanks in advance for any useful info.
I am using Word 2003 and have pored through the menus and options and can't
find anything that could fix the problem -- but then there's a lot I don't
understand about this program.
Anyway, TIA
