[gui-talk] Defining and Redefining Filetype Associations

Ray --

Isn't there a way within Windows to universally define certain filetypes to
be associated with certain programs? For instance, how would one redefine
that all MP3 files should be played with WinAmp, for example, and all .MID
files be played with another player?

Uh, do you have the latest version of Winamp? IF not, you'll need to get
it. Now, as for the file opening up in notepad, sounds to me like you need
to go in to your Winamp file types plug in and select to associate with .mp4
files. Next, you might want to find the file in the normal way, then right
click on the file. Then, from the context menu which opens up, choose the
"open with..." submenu. Once in this submenu, choose Winamp. That should
do it.

Sincerely yours,

Ray
