[gui-talk] playing .wav files

Hi list, here's a curious one.  I have some .wav files from

www.soundamerica.com

that I downloaded to try to play in Winamp 5.35.  Back when I had Winamp
5.13, they played just fine, but now they don't even play.  Not even with
RealPlayer.  Is there some trick to make sure Winamp will play these .wav
files, besides the obvious, making sure .wav files are selected in
Preferences in Winamp?  Been there, done that; I even deselected .wav in
Winamp Preferences to see if they'll play in RealPlayer, but no luck there.

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated, especially if anyone has ever been
on the Sound America website recently to download sounds from there.
