Hi folks.
Does anyone on these lists have any experience in using HP Openview
version 5.1 or any other versions of HP Openview in conjunction with the
jaws for windows screen reader software.
I will need to use it at work over the coming months and it appears that
it is inaccessible "out of the box".
I installed it a few days ago and jaws will not voice/speak anything
when I open the program.
I've done a little bit of research regarding this via hp's web site to
see if I could find anything on accessibility but so far my searches
haven't turned up much useful.
A support request submitted to freedom scientific suggested the Java
AccessBridge, however; I suspect that using the Java AccessBridge in
conjunction with the software is one piece of a larger puzzle.
I say this because on the pc where HP Openview will run I already have
the latest Java AccessBridge running due to the fact that I am also
required to use Novell's ConsoleOne program on a daily basis to
administer an nds tree and a novell groupwise domain.
>From previous experience regarding these topics, I know as well that for
most applications to run successfully in conjunction with the Java
AccessBridge there are aditional steps required to invoke the Java
AccessBridge to run with application x or application y.
For example, after setting up the AccessBridge to use with ConsoleOne I
had to copy 5 or 6 files from the AccessBridge install directory to the
directory where my ConsoleOne install resided before the AccessBridge
would invoke itself automatically each time I opened ConsoleOne.
If anyone on these forums has any experience with HP Openview running
in conjunction with JAWS I'd appreciate hearing from you.
Feel free to email me directly, or you can reach me at my telephone
number listed below 8:30-5 Newfoundland Standard Time Mon-Fri.
 Thanks in advance - Ed.
