Hi All
I am basically going crazy about this beastly thing called a Dell
computer. I keep getting the blue screen of death. it doesn't happen in
any particular order or during any particular event. We are using Windows
XP media center edition. jaws 7.0. The only thingthat occurs with any sort
of frequency, and that doesn't happen every time, is that just before the
machine crashes, there are these awful sounds coming out of the speakers.
The sound is definitely from the speakers as opposed to the CPU. The first
error message is as follows:

dcmc0d0.dll

The message says that Windows has shut down in order to avoid possible
damage to the system.

Dell has no idea what the problem is, or at least they aren't saying if
they do. They say I need to re-install Windows. When i asked
Freedom-Scientific, because I thought there might be a conflict with the ATI
card, Doug said it sounds like a sound card failure. When I tried to
"Google" the error message, I really didn't find anything that applied.
Someone got a similar message with their nvidia card. They thought the
system was getting too hot. There wasn't any real answer there either.
   Any help would be appreciated.
