ah! I'll bet what I'm remembering is from when I was running Windows 98 S E,
and it required a reboot! Okay. Now I'm less mystified.

It's interesting to note that here at home where I run a Windows-me system I
am asked to restart after every avg update. On the 3 Windows-xp machines I
have the updates are done without asking for a reboot.
