yes thank you, that was the device I was trying to think of and it
has everything built over a LINUX operating system which means its as
solid as a rock and should perform well.

I'm watching the development of Icon. If they're able to finish it,
it will
be the all-in-one device I'm looking for. Note taker, cell phone,
recorder,
calendar, stop watch timer, alarms, a 30 gig hard drive, wireless and
blue
tooth connectivity, and Windows copy protected format capabilities.
I'll
gladly pay the two grand for something like this.

| Yes, I can understand that. I'm probably a little more daring than
| that but then again I have the time to go through things and I
| understand fully that not everyone has the time or the patience that
| I and others probably have. Ok, you make a small mistake but its not
| the end of the world, you're still here, the world hasn't ended, you
| still have a roof over your head etc.
| the most difficult product I've ever had to master? Well, that's been
| without a doubt my Panasonic DVD/vCR recorder combo where both units
| record, the machine has a twin tuner etc, now that thing really took
| some getting used to but I'm using it now.

| This brings to mind a time when many of us were taken by the
| announcement of
| a dictionary put out by the Franklin company. This was just before
the
| Language master when we had no portable dictionaries. It was listed
| in the
| old Aids and Appliances catalogue. It was described as accessible.
| They
| said it announced the words. What we didn't know was that it only
| announced
| what you were inputting and it didn't read the definitions. If I had
| been
| able to afford it, I'd have been in the same boat as two of my
| friends who
| did buy the thing. They got a refund but I've been appropriately
| guarded in
| my approach to new technology every since.

|| YOu know,
||
|| When I first heard about these new recorders they really sounded
|| great and maybe a perfect replacement for the Book Courier. But,
|| at the same time I had the feeling that it was too good to be true,
|| and apparently that's the way it is.
||
|| Maybe it's okay for someone who just wants a digital recorder, but
|| if you're serious about such things as using it for a player as
|| well, it just isn't worth it in it's current state.
||
|| It also goes to show that accessability is in the eyes of the
|| accesser.
