Please distribute this where you think it makes sense to do so.
The Ccna and ITE essentials courses are running again in 2008.
We will accept people up until 21 January.
The course costs 2 days worth of your regular income; however it will be
relatively hard work with homework
and reading time outside of course time.
When we say hard work; we mean that you may have to spend 2 or 3 days
per
week beyond the 2 course lecture days in order to get all the work done.
We
are happy to answer any questions on work load or put you in touch with
some
previous students who can answer your questions.
ccna1 will run on Fridays; and It essentials 1 will run on Wednesday;
lectures 9 till 11 Perth time.
Ite1 and Ccna1 will take 6 months to complete if you work at regular
speed;
Ite2 and Ccna2 will take the second 6 months.
All lectures are recorded and if you can not attend class you are able
to
listen to the recordings.
This however will mean you will not be able to ask questions in class
time
and will have to do so outside class time or on the mailing lists.
You can either do the IT issentials 1 course or both CCNA 1 and IT
Essentials.
Ccna gives you basic networking knowledge; teaches you how to build and
maintain home networks and small business networks.
We do not cover wireless networks in this course however we will talk
about
them as we go through.
IT essentials will teach you how to fix computers; install operating
systems
and troubleshoot technical problems.

Remote students should have good to excellent jaws skills; a reasonably
modern computer and jaws (able to run firefox and ventrilo) and either
be
comfortable installing software on their machine or get a separate box
for
this purpose.
We can suggest places to get another desktop computer for aprox $100-200
(with no monitor).
I appologize for the formatting of the below; it was cut from a word
document available on request.
