Thanks. Fortunately, all is done now and I did put some of my files on zip 
disks, which I guess I can clear off. Anyway, I need an external hard drive, 
as mine is getting full.

We need more info.  Exactly what do you want to bakc up?  If you just
want to bakc up data, and only certain folders, you can simply use the
Windows clipboard, and copy and paste to CD's or DVD's.  DVD's hold
about 7 times more data than CD's.  This won't work for programs,
though, because programs insert entries into the Windows registry, and
the program won't work, or won't work properly if you simply copy it
using the above method.  If you want to transfer the entire contents of
yur HD to another HD, you will need to use an imaging program like
norton Ghost, or Drive Image.  I have heard that older versions of
Norton Ghost will work with screen readers.  I have also heard that a
blind person can do the backup, but sighted assistance is needed for the
restore.  If you want to back up your entire HD, it is best to transfer
the image to another HD.  Those portable USB HD's are great for this
purpose.  You can pick up a Western Digital Passport USB portable HD for
from $50 to $80 depending on capacity.  If a computer shop is involved,
they will do the transfer, for a fee, of course.

I hope someone can help. I need to back up at least certain folders on
my hard drive, because I am going to have it put into a different
computer and I don't want to lose certain folders. Could you please
suggest the easiest way for this technically challenged person to do
this or is there a program that is Jaws friendly I can use? I do have
e-Backup, but it doesn't seem to be useable with Jaws. Any suggestions
would be most helpful. Thank you in advance.
