[gui-talk] Sending mail from multiple accounts in Outlook 2003:

Just to be clear about this let me dewscribe. I just shift tabbed from where
I'm typing now, a few times. Subject, bcc, cc, to, then Jaws said From colon
combo box and spoke the default return address/account, which happens
already to be this one. So I just tabbed back down here to continue writing.
This doesn't happen if you shift tab up there? What does happen? What do you
hear?

Just out of curiosity Chuck, as an OE 6 user, doesn't Outlook also enable
you to simply shift tab into the From field of the headers and find there a
combo box with all your accounts to choose from or, if you feel like typing,
you can just type in the return address you want to use? I ask because I
don't use any tool bar with OE, and it doesn't prevent me from doing this.
Know what I'm asking? Doesn't Outlook also work this way, if you prefer?
thanks.

As I mentioned, when you create a new message in Outlook 2003, initially it
will be configured to be sent from the default account.

If you wish to change the account that this message is sent from, there is
an Accounts button on the message toolbar which will allow you to choose
which account it should be sent from.

The accounts button will only be present on the message toolbar if you have
multiple accounts configured in Outlook.

Charles, my problem isn't with the default account I've selected but with my
ability to select a different account from which to send the message. It
seems it used to be that a list of options would come up somehow, and I'd be
able to arrowing and select which account to send from on the fly. Is this
true? I'm using Outlook 2003. thanks

Outlook will designate the first e-mail account setup as the default
account. You can change this from the Account Settings dialog. Go to the
Tools menu, choose Account Settings and then highlight one of the accounts
to be the default and press the "Set as default" button.

When creating a new, blank message, the default account will be used. You
can change this using the "Accounts" button on the toolbar. From there, you
can choose the account you wish the message to be sent from.

When replying to, or forwarding, an e-mail, whatever account received the
message will be set as the account for the reply or forward. Again, you can
change this from the Accounts button in the message window.

I have three. Hotmail. google mail and my ISP's SBC. account. To clarify,
I want to be able to send from each as I wish and not have one sending all
the time.

No matter which of my account in boxes I'm in, everything wants to get sent
from my Hotmail account unless I'm replying to a post. I've tried opening a
new message form, going to send receive and selecting one of my other
accounts without success. Any input would be appreciated.
