Dear Users,

Code Factory wants to make this a September to remember for the community of
the blind and visually impaired, and so together with the release of our
exciting new product for SmartPhones, we now give you the final build of
Version 1.0.8 of Mobile Speak Pocket. 

We thank everyone who gave us useful feedback during the ten weeks that the
public beta was available for download. And what better way is there to
express our gratitude for your continued support than to present you with a
free update that incorporates over 150 new features and fixes?

As it would not be practical to include in this announcement the entire
change log, we invite everyone to check out the "What's New" page at

There are three important points to note before you download this new
version:

1. The installation process has been simplified so please check the latest
upgrade instructions at:

2. There is a patch available only for users of the HTC Wizard and its
variants including the Qtek 9100, Cingular 8100/25, T-Mobile MDA (US),
Orange SPV M300, O2 Xda Mini S, and the i-Mate K-JAM. You can read about it
and find the instructions on how to install at:

3. Starting this release, a new and better command structure has been
implemented and we encourage everyone to read and learn this command layout
by downloading the file at:

However, for current users who would like to continue using the legacy
layout, follow these steps after installing MSP and exiting the Start Wizard
which now launches after the soft reset:

1. Open the MSP Control Panel by performing the Ctrl+LongTap3 command.
Alternatively, you can press Enter on the Mobile Speak Pocket shortcut on
the Today Screen or in the Start menu (WM2003SE) or in Start > Programs
(WM5).

2. Press Enter on the "Function Keys" option in the Control Panel.

3. Select "Legacy" as the active command layout.

4. Tab to the "OK" button and hit Enter. A message comes up informing you
that the change will only take effect after you perform a soft reset.

5. Soft reset the device.

Note also that there is a unified command structure for all supported
Braille devices and the command summary for each device is given at:
