[gui-talk] Symantec and Jaws question

I have no difficulty using Symantec with Jaws. I've been using it for three
years now. Having made such a sweeping statement, let me site a few
configuration options which should be set to optimize its many features to
work properly. Turn off the loading of the system doctor. It's graphical
and slows the system tremendously. I know many sightlings who don't use it
as well. Next, if you're using Ms. Office, turn off virus protection for it
in the miscellaneous section of the antivirus program. Also, turn off
splash screens. I've found this to be the most user friendly suite of its
kind I've ever used. The antispam, back-up, and security programs, are
totally accessible and easy to understand. There are also options to have
disk doctor start with every reboot and I don't have it on either.

| Hi, listers,
|
| Does anyone else have their computer go to a crawl if the Symantec
| Antivirus is set to automatic updates?
