Just a note to say thanks again to all of you who responded to my inquiry 
about which printer to get to replace my old HP 520 Deskjet.  I appreciate 
all your opinions and reports of your own shopping and ownership 
experiences.

Ultimately, I picked up an HP 1020 Laserjet at Staples, based not only on my 
own online comparison shopping and priorities, but also because the model 
came up pretty popular here, and I am comfortable knowing that if I should 
have any questions about using the machine properly, I'll be in helpful 
company on this list.

I gave it its maiden run today, printing out a new manuscript that's been 
waiting to begin its round of submissions, and the fully sighted friend who 
helped me prepare the envelopes for mailing assured me that the printed 
manuscript  looks as crisp and sharp as I could ever desire.

Thanks again to everyone for their two cents' worth, including those who 
spoke up for other models than the one I wound up getting.
