Hi Nick.
Using a cisco vpn client and then connecting to exchange using ms
outlook 2003 should work fine independent of the screen reader that you
are using though I have only done this using Jaws and Window-Eyes
myself.
The last time I did this, around 8 months go it worked well.
My previous employer Aliant Telecom www.aliant.ca used this type of
setup for remote access.
I might add though that I did not find the web interface for accessing
ms exchange via the internet "Outlook Web Access" to be overly speech
friendly though I only ever tested/used it with JFW.
It is usable however it does take alot of getting used too before one
can use it affectively and I would not wish to use it as one's only
means of viewing email.
I don't know if anything has changed in regard to this issue in the last
8 months or so because my current employer uses a groupwise system for
their email and we use a contivity vpn client for vpn access for those
who need it.
I do not have vpn access using the contivity client and SecurID as we
have a windows 2003 server in our DMZ which is primarily used by payroll
clerks with the various schoolboards to update teacher payroll and as I
am a domain administrator I have login rights to this server and simply
use remote desktop if I need to get on the government network from home.
Does this help?
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Ed
P.S.: If your employer uses SecurID authentication with the vpn client
depending upon your level of vision you may wish to contact your radius
administrator and get an user password setup. so you can login
independently.

Has anyone on list "run Exchange 2003 connecting using the Cisco VPN
client and then open Outlook 2003."? Has anyone also "accessed mail by
using the
web mail portion of the Exchange 2003 server."? Any really really
really basic for dummies warnings and preparation and/or guidance as in
Tutorials would be
appreciated. Looks like I'm either going to have up upgrade JFW or dig
deep quickly into Hal...
Nick
